Junior Cricket is back at Jenny Lane for 2021!

The victorious Baildon under 18 side which triumphed over the Baildon over 18s in the Heggers Trophy in 2020.

Tonight our under 18's side travel to Bradford and Bingley to begin their season. Captain Adam Dean will be hoping that his side can lean on some of the performances that his player's produced in the first round of senior cricket on Saturday. Runs for himself and Will Kelly along with a four wicket haul for left arm spinner Ben Grimmitt got the season off to a great start.

We will be holding our first junior training night of the year on Friday (23rd of April). This is for our under 9, under 11, under 13 and under 15 teams. The session starts at 6:30pm and will finish at 7:30pm for under 9's and 8pm for the other age groups. ECB Allstars cricket starts later in the season. If you could come a little earlier than 6:30 to enable all players to be registered in for the session for track and trace purposes, it would be much appreciated. Please see Alex and Sarah Shaw upon your entry to the ground. Table service will be available outside the bar area. We ask that all drinkers remain seated in that area and follow all other appropriate guidelines for outdoor hospitality. As per last year, the gentleman's toilet will be inside the changing rooms and the ladies will be in the clubhouse - accessed from the main door.

Please make sure that all junior cricketers bring their own hand sanitiser to the session - we will be asking them to apply it at regular intervals. (if you forget or don't have any, we will provide some). If you or anyone in your family are displaying any corona virus symptoms please do not come to the ground, please stay at home and seek the appropriate medical guidance.

As we believe there is also some rugby activity on Friday nights please try and use the car park on the right of the lane before you access the ground to ease the volume of traffic on the site.

In the three senior league games we played last Saturday, we turned out 33 players. Of those 33, 10 were players who have come through our junior system and 9 were current junior players. That means that 57% of the players used were products of our on-going commitment to junior cricket. When our fourth team begin their season this weekend, it is likely this percentage will be even higher!

All the fixtures for junior cricket this season are listed on our website, along with other pieces of important information, like a link to our just giving campaign to raise funds to purchase a new roller! Our target is £1,500, we've currently reached £795 so please take a look and if you can afford it, please give generously!

See you all there!
