Weekend Preview 8th July

Saturday 8th

Baildon 1st XI v Morley 1st XI - Morley @ 12:30

Match Day sponsor: Nathan Hayward/Jacob Green

The 1s turned the momentum in their favour last week after some losses to teams they'd fancy themselves to beat. They turned 3rd placed Yeadon over in front of a packed Jenny Lane. Raman Athwal triggered the collapse taking 5-13. James Ford and Joel Newlove took some blinding catches as Yeadon lost their last 8 wickets for just 22 runs. Kev McDermott (45) and Joel (40*) saw us home without too much bother.

This week they travel to Morley who have in-form Yousaf Baber sitting top of the run-scoring table in the Bradford League. We'll be looking to ensure we climb their way out of 11th position in the league with a win against a team we beat earlier in the year.

Team: K McDermott, C Reynolds, J Reynolds, M Khan, W Kelly, J Newlove, J Ford, R Athwal, J Marron-Toop, S Mather, C Malik.

Baildon 2nd XI v Methley 2nd XI - Jenny Lane @ 12:30

Match Day sponsor: Brett Kinsey

After suffering a drubbing towards the start of the season from Methley, our bowlers will be keen to impress that they had an off day and there won't be a repeat. Captain Simon McDermott is coming off a score of 98* against Brighouse where George Barker also got runs. They'll want to get runs again in this game that could cement our place in the top 3 in the league.

Team: S McDermott, G Barker, J Abbott, H Brook-Dobson, S Woledge-Wilkinson, J Capper, M Khan, J Denison, W Baker, S Kelly, S Holmes.

Baildon 3rd XI v Pudsey Congs 3rd XI - Sandal School @ 13:30

We field a strong side to take on Pudsey Congs at home. Ex Baildon player Zulfi will be keen to score runs against us but with our bowling depth it won't be easy. Josh Hannan, James Butterfield and Danny Bell all hit 50s in their last game as they posted 300

Team: D Hodgson, J Hannan, P Sunil, P Hannan, T Pickles, L Smalley, S Miller, B Grimmitt, D Bell, L Turner, J Butterfield.

Baildon 4th XI v Adel - Adel CC @ 13:30

The 4s got smashed around a bit in their last game with Leeds Super Kings scoring 339 batting first. Adel are a strong side for this division so it could be a tough game but we field a good side as Finlay McCaul takes the gloves for the first time in the 4s this year.

Team: A Norton, M Ahmed, F McCall, D Barber, A Free, L Allerton, L Shaw, T Joy, Y Malik, S Shah, A Turner.
