Weekend Preview 3rd June

This Saturday sees the 1st team host Batley as the 2s take on local rivals Bradford & Bingley. The 3s are away at Leeds Sikh which the 4s have Tong Park Esholt in another local grudge match.

Saturday 3rd

Baildon 1st XI v Batley 1st XI - Jenny Lane @ 12:30

Match Day sponsor: Yorkshire iCASP

Last week against Gomersal saw the 1s lose out as they failed to post a competitive total against a strong batting side. Jonny Reynolds got in and made 63 but ran out of support.

On Saturday they face Batley who have had a better start to the year than our side but are definitely beatable. We are missing opening bowler Umar and leg-spinner Charlie this week but Jamie Abbott and Miraj Khan come in from the 2nd team. Joel and Raman will see an opportunity to impress with more of a reliance on their bowling.

Team: K McDermott, C Reynolds, J Reynolds, M Khan, W Kelly, J Newlove, J Ford, R Athwal, J Barron-Toop, M Khan, J Abbott.

Bradford & Bingley 2nd XI v Baildon 2nd XI - Bradford & Bingley CC @ 12:30

Match Day sponsor: George Barker and Tash

The 2s have hit some batting form as they scored 297 against Gomersal. A 75 run opening partnership from Miraj and George laid the platform for our middle order as Sam Woledge-Wilkinson (50) and Stefan Mather (83) punished anything short on a slow pitch. Josh and Jamie again collected wickets, picking up 4 each as they restricted Gomersal to 148.

A game we always like to be competitive in against Bradford and Bingley this week. The absence of Haris gives Will Baker an opportunity to come in after impressing with the ball in the 3s.

Team: S McDermott, G Barker, H Brook-Dobson, S Wilkinson, J Capper, S Mather, W Baker, J Terry, L Turner, J Denison, S Kelly

Leeds Sikh 2nd XI v Baildon 3rd XI - Gledhow @ 13:30

At Mayfield Terrace Danny Bell was the pick of the bowlers taking 4-47 as we restricted them to 196, Leo Smalley also keeping it tight with 2-10. Paul Hannan (47) and Dave Hodgson (79) wasted no time chasing the total down with Parth Sunil also chipping in with 21.

Leeds Sikh are always a tough opposition and after losing a close game to them last season Dave's men will be keen to make a statement.

Team: D Hodgson, J Hannan, J Butterfield, P Hannan, T Pickles, L Smalley, D Metcalfe, S Miller, D Grimmitt, D Bell, S Bullock

Baildon 4th XI v Tong Park Esholt 3rd XI - Sandal School @ 13:30

Another win last week for the 4s with Lela Modhwadia (5-25) and Toby Allerton (3-25) doing good work with the ball as we skittled Muff Field for 135. This total posed little challenge to Zeeshan (44*) and Akeel Ahmed (87*) as we chased their score losing just one wicket.

They will be facing Tong Park Esholt who were relegated from the B division last year and will be no pushover.

Team: A Norton, Z Ahmed, A Ahmed, M Ahmed, B Fawkes, L Modhwadia, T Allerton, L Allerton, F Raper, T Joy, TBC.

Sunday 4th

Baildon 1st XI v Undercliffe 1st XI - Undercliffe CC @ 13:00

After losing out to them earlier in the season our 1s have a chance to right the score as they take Undercliffe on in the Priestley Cup.

Team: K McDermott, C Reynolds, M Khan, W Kelly, J Newlove, J Ford, R Athwal, J Barron-Toop, S McDermott, U Zahoor, S Kelly

Baildon 3rd XI v Shipley Providence 1st XI - Jenny Lane @ 13:30

Shipley Prov have looked stronger this season as their first team from last year now make up the majority of their second team. We take them on in the second round of the Pool Paper Mills cup.

Team: S Holmes, J Denison, P Sunil, J Butterfield, D Grimmitt, L Turner, D Hodgson, S Butterfield, S Miller, L Smalley, L Shaw
