Programme Notes - Saturday 14th July vs Bankfoot

Hello and welcome to Jenny Lane for today's game against Bankfoot.

Prior to last week Bankfoot have been on a fine run of form, which has seen them move up to 5th in the league table. Even in last week's losing cause James Lee took 6 wickets for 21 runs, proving his class once again.

We, on the other hand haven't had a great run of results in recent times, however in and amongst the disappointments there have been some performances to note. Hamza fired a brilliant 66 last week and was unlucky not to go on and win the game for us, in the same game Bails was back to form with the ball in hand, taking 5 wickets on a track that was most definitely a batters paradise! Blair once again looked classy for his 38 and he more than anyone will want to kick on and get that big score (I'm confident it will be today).

Brett continues to do a fine job for us with the ball and I couldn't possibly go without mentioning Chris’s knock last week. He will be the first to admit it has been long overdue but his 45 on Saturday was a great knock and I am hopeful it will give him the confidence to kick on and provide valuable runs down the order for the rest of the season.

Unfortunately in recent games we haven't been able to back up these individual performances with a complete team performance. However as a side our fielding continues to improve and there are good signs that the batting is getting stronger. I believe that these improvements, alongside the return of a very nearly fit Jonny and the evergreen Mushy will help us to push on and reignite the performances from earlier in the season and start climbing back up the table where we belong.
