Firsts receive boost with arrival of overseas

Following two disappointing defeats to start the season the first team have been boosted with the news that overseas all rounder Waqas Maqsood will arrive this week in time for this weekend's double header.

Waqas is no stranger to us having been our overseas player in 2015 when he scored 335 runs at 23.93 and took 59 wickets at 13.22. An aggressive left handed batsman and opening bowler he has recently been playing in Pakistan's premier one day tournament in the same side as test players Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed.

We wish Waqas well and hope he can kick the first team's season into life as we first host Wrenthorpe in the league on Saturday before travelling to Premier Division side New Farnley in the first round of the Priestley Cup on Sunday.
